In 1950 Emilio Pucci opened a boutique in Capri and Pucci’s fashions began to reflect their Mediterranean identity, with splashes of exuberantly coloured print and precious Italian fabrications.

Destiny started to take its course as Pucci moved to Florence and took up residence in his family’s historic home, where he lived and worked. In 1950, the label’s first boutique opened its doors in Capri: Jet-setters and cinema stars immediately fall in love with the long, fluid jersey dresses, silk scarves and wide legged pant suits all bursting with a distinct geometric pattern and done in a palette of cool pastels and sorbet shades. Amongst the label’s loyal clientele were icons such as Jackie Kennedy, Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe.

Their feminine and free flowing body conscious shapes translated seamlessly into weightless silk jersey dresses, resort-style sportswear and glorious evening gowns– must-haves for the jet-set crowd. His designs are known to be bold, 60′s style and for women who like to make a statement. It maybe seasonal but never go out of style.
